If you instead do this in the Account then you are perpetually moving from one end of the screen to the next (my bank "helpfully" places 'VISA - ' before the payee name for card payments). You can create a Payee report but this is painfully slow, taking approximately 6-20 seconds for every edit, as this triggers a refresh of the report (I have just under 6,000 records showing in this report). There is no Payee view to make the process from point 6 easier. No ability to merge Payees - every bank downloads payee info with extraneous data - can change payee but for historic data you cannot merge these multiple payees into the correct format.
